Term and Conditions

Welcome to Visage Mediclinic. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our services by accessing or using our services it is implied that you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Services

Visage Mediclinic provides cosmetic medical treatments and services. These services are performed by Tiana Elliott who is qualified in cosmetic nursing. The specific details of the services provided can be found on our website or communicated to you directly before proceeding with your treatment. It is important to remember that whilst injectables and dermal therapies aim to improve the appearance of skin and slow down the signs of aging they do not substitute cosmetic surgeries and it is essential to have realistic expectations. Expectations of what is an achievable result can be found on the before and after images of our social pages. Further more every treatment is customised to your specific anatomy and desires.

What To Expect

Before receiving any cosmetic treatment at Visage Mediclinic, you will undergo a consultation. During this consultation you are assessed for suitability of the treatment. It is important to provide accurate and complete information during the consultation to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the treatment. Your prescription is not included in the treatment fee – an additional $30 is required for a prescription that is valid for 6-12 months depending on the prescribing doctor and their terms and conditions under new legislation. Should you wish to deviate from your script and treatment plan or try an otherwise unspecified prescribed medication you will require an additional script and incur an additional fee. Sometimes people have antibodies to specific neurotoxins, under these rare circumstances you may require trying a different kind of neurotoxin, the results are not guaranteed and Visage Mediclinic is not liable to incur additional fees for additional units of neurotoxin should your initial choice of medication be unsuccessful.

Treatment Process

Once the consultation is complete, and it is determined that you are a suitable candidate for the treatment, we will consult with a prescribing doctor who will also outline the risks and benefits of the procedure and again ensure your suitability. Together Tiana Elliott and the prescribing doctor will use their professional judgment and expertise to provide you with the best possible outcome. However, please note that individual results may vary. All patients must be over 18 years old.

Risks and Side Effects

All medical treatments carry inherent risks and potential side effects. At Visage Mediclinic, we prioritize your safety and well-being.  You will be informed of the potential risks and side effects associated with each treatment. It is essential to carefully consider this information before proceeding with any procedure.

Dermal fillers and After Care

This is a special medical gel made of a naturally occurring substance called “hyaluronic acid” (HA). There are several different brands, which are almost identical in ingredient. The treatment is TGA approved and safe when prescribed by a doctor.

The effects of the treatment will be noticeable immediately, but there is a limit to how much filler is reasonable to administer at one time, so it may take more than one treatment session to achieve the look you are after. The effect of the filler will usually last for 3-12 months depending on the area treated and product used. After that time the product is naturally degraded by your body.

We will consult with you about where you feel treatment would benefit you most, and we will also offer our recommendation. Each treatment will be tailored to your individual needs and the results are individual to your anatomy. Prices are per millilitre of dermal filler, and the amount required may vary. We will confirm the plan with you before we proceed.

You should not apply make-up to the treated areas for 24 hours afterwards (If possible 48 hours is preferable) and you should avoid massaging or otherwise putting pressure on the treated area for 48 hours afterwards (if possible, try to sleep on your back). You should also avoid prolonged exposure to extremes of heat, cold or UV light for 2 weeks (for example, a sauna). Consent for procedure When used by qualified staff for cosmetic therapy, dermal fillers are very safe, and are typically very well tolerated. People who should not receive dermal filler treatments include.

People who have previously had a reaction to dermal filler or have an allergy to lignocaine. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding. People who form keloid scars. People who have an infection at the proposed site of injection. People who are taking anti-coagulation (“blood thinning”) medication. There are four major risks to be aware of. The treatment may not work as well as you would like. For example, the volume achieved by the filler may not be as much as you were hoping for. We will follow-up with you two weeks after your treatment to see how you are feeling about the effects.

You may experience itching at the site of treatment, which usually resolves in a few days.

Occasionally, you may notice some bumps underneath your skin, some redness, or some pimples. Again, these usually resolve after a few days. Bleeding, bruising or infection, while unexpected, may develop at the injection site. Rarely, an infection may become complicated. If you suspect an infection has occurred, please let your doctor know by contacting your clinic. A rare but serious complication may occur if the filler blocks a blood vessel. This can cause a lack of blood flow to the areas “downstream” from the blockage. Consequences of this can include skin discolouration, skin death. In a few cases worldwide, the blood vessels affecting the eye have been affected, causing blindness. Our nurses have special training using medication and equipment to minimise the risk of blood vessel occlusion occurring.

You should avoid alcohol 3 hours before and 3 hours after the procedure, as alcohol causes blood vessels on the skin to enlarge, which may distribute the medication over a wider area than planned. For the same reason, you should avoid exercise for the hour before and three hours after the procedure.

Neurotoxins/Anti-Wrinkle – And After Care.  Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified natural protein to relax muscles. There are several different brands, which are almost identical. The treatment is approved and safe when prescribed by a doctor. The procedure will involve several injections with a very fine needle in the areas discussed in your treatment plan. You may feel some slight discomfort but it is usually not painful. It will take about 30 minutes of sitting comfortably.

The aim of our therapy is to use subtle amounts of anti-wrinkle medication to create a natural, fresher, more youthful look, without limiting your ability to express yourself. We will not eliminate all signs of aging, but instead aim to produce a soft, rested face. Ideally, no one will know we were there!

It usually takes about 3 days to 2 weeks for the full effect of the medication to be visible. The effects of the medication are not permanent. They usually last 3-4 months. Deep wrinkles will become gradually less with repeat dosing. For the best results we recommend repeat treatments every 3 or 4 months.

We will consult with you about where you feel treatment would benefit you most, and we will also offer our recommendation. Each treatment will be tailored to your individual needs. Prices are per unit of anti-wrinkle injection, and the number of units may vary. We will confirm the plan with you before we proceed however if it’s your first visit you will be treated with the minimum as guidelines for the medication recommend for your muscle mass.

You should avoid alcohol 3 hours before and 3 hours after the procedure, as alcohol causes blood vessels on the skin to enlarge, which may distribute the medication over a wider area than planned. For the same reason, you should avoid exercise for the hour before and three hours after the procedure. It is also asked that you do not wear a tight hat and remain upright for 4 hours after the procedure.

Cosmetic Injectables are not recommended for those who have previously had a reaction to anti-wrinkle injections. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding. People who suffer from neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis or Eaton Lambert syndrome. People who have an infection at the proposed site of injection. There are three major risks to be aware of. The treatment may not work as well as you would like. For example, wrinkles may not smooth out as much as you were hoping for. We will follow-up with you two weeks after your treatment to see how you are feeling about the effects. In 3 percent of cases anti-wrinkle treatment may cause temporary drooping or raising of the eyebrows or corners of the mouth this usually self resolves on its own. We aim to avoid this through correct technique and minimal dosing. Bleeding, bruising or infection, while unexpected, may develop at the injection site.
